Suppose that an autonomous car is faced with a terrible decision to crash into one of two objects. It could swerve to the left and hit a Volvo sport utility vehicle (SUV), or it could swerve to the right and hit a Mini Cooper. If you were programming the car to minimize harm to others–a sensible goal–which way would you instruct it go in this scenario?

Der Mensch kann so schnell keine Entscheidung treffen, ob er lieber einen Kleinwagen oder die Limo rammen soll. Wenn das dann doch einer kann, dann hat dieser zu viele Unfälle gehabt. Ein “normaler” Bürger gerät da eher in Panik und hat keine Zeit zu überlegen was nun besser wäre.

Wenn nun so eine Logik in die autonomen Autos der Zukunft rein kommt, stellt sich die Frage an was wird entschieden ? Kleinwagen oder doch der Laster ? Der Fahrradfahrer mit oder ohne Helm ? Mann oder Frau ?
